Coaches and safeguarding qualifications

Coaches in the county need to know that their safeguarding qualifications need to be up to date. If not, according to information we have seen from England Squash, they will not be entitled to ES membership benefits, including insurance. I know of one coach who has to cancel all his school work as he is not able to do a course till December. This is a serious matter and you should check your status with England Squash

Squash Girls Can Coach

Want to engage more women squash players in your club? Want to develop your skills?

Applications are now open for the new Squash Girls Can Coach – a funded, mentored, female coach development initiative aiming to engage and support more women to kick start or progress their coaching.

Anna Vaughan Hawkins, Head Coach at The Northern, has been appointed a mentor and said: “It would be fantastic for some of the clubs in Cheshire to get involved with this and future proof the League!”

The 12-month structured programme of training and mentoring will start in January 202. Candidates will have the opportunity to take their Level 1 and Level 2 coaching courses at the beginning and end of the year – they will initially pay 50% of their coaching course fee but may be reimbursed upon successful completion of the programme, subject to the requirements being met.

Applications will close on 22 November 2019. For more information go to .
