From Christian Ogden

Hi everyone,
I hope this email finds you well?
I just wanted to email everyone to give you all a quick update, including a few plans for the future coming up in 2022!
Before I go into the details, I have created a WhatsApp group for Prestbury Squash Club. I know there are multiple groups around. However this Group is open to ALL members from the top to the bottom of the Club and a great way for me and the club to communicate directly with all the members in one place.

Despite the difficulties of COVID and the uncertainty of indoor Sports, we have been able to get 23 regular Junior players attending Coaching sessions through the week! Now we have a good structure in place, this Programme will look to grow substantially in 2022!
High School Squash has resumed with Tytherington and Kings with the following numbers:
Tythington: 18-20 kids each week

Kings: 10/11 kidsBoth are looking likely to grow and develop well in 2022!

Prestbury Primary School will also be looking to return early in 2022!
Ladies Squash sessions have resumed on a Wednesday Night from 8pm! It would be good to see more of the Ladies Team(s) attending regularly.

In the New Year I’m planning on starting a NEW ladies group from 7:30pm to try and get new Ladies Joining and hopefully joining the Club! Spread the word with anyone you think might be interested!
I am also looking to run an Adults Beginner Group – Squash 101 session in the New Year on Friday Nights 6pm-7pm followed by a Community Night for beginners to get on court. Hopefully this creates a fantastic opportunity to have a social, friendly end to the week on a Friday Night!
In the last few months

Prestbury has hosted:PSA Event – Holmes Naden Prestbury Squash Open 2021, Which was a great event and a huge success. What a great opportunity for the Club to have some of the worlds best players competing in our village Club! The Event ran alongside a Graded Open which had great feedback from all involved! Looking forward to the next one so watch this space!

Cheshire Squash Grand Prix

England Squash Aspire Coaching Squad

KS3 National Schools Championships First Round

Lots more exciting events planned for 2022! Please can members remember to book courts. With more going on and more planned, you can no longer assume that a court will be free.

I am looking for passionate and enthusiastic Club Players who might be interested in becoming a qualified England Squash Level 1 Coach. This is a participation Coach award and will allow you to help with or run your own group beginner sessions!
This is a vital part of my Plan to Grow Prestbury Squash Club and increase membership and participation! The Course is Online and can be found at: England Squash – Course – England Squash Level 1 – Participation Coach Award (Online)
Over Christmas I am looking to hold a Practical Day for the above Course, so if you might be interested please let me know ASAP and I can give you more information!
All that is left to say is I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and all the best for the New Year!
Stay Safe Best Wishes
